MEET LOLAS

Founded in 2011, Lolas is Los Angeles' premiere all-female vocal pop group. Performing a cappella as well as accompanied by their four-piece band, Lolas has headlined Los Angeles’ most legendary music venues including The Mint, The Roxy, and The Witzend. In 2015, Lolas released their self-titled debut album at a sold out show at Hotel Café. Showcasing innovative and edgy arrangements composed by members of the group, Lolas features songs from artists such as Alt-J, The Beatles, Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Fleetwood Mac, Hundred Waters, Selena Gomez, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and many others. AUDITION FOR LOLAS

We’re accepting auditions this summer!

Thank you for your interest in Lolas, Los Angeles' premiere all-women vocal pop group! Please submit your application and all required materials listed below through this form by Sunday, July 27 at 9:00 PM Pacific. We will notify you in early August whether or not you are invited to callbacks. Callbacks will take place on Wednesday, August 13 in the evening in the West LA area (specific time and location provided upon callback invitation).

Required:

  • Intro video -- Tell us about yourself!

  • You singing a verse and chorus of a ballad (no backing music)

  • You singing a verse and chorus of an up-tempo song (no backing music)

  • You singing scales to show both your high and low range (on any vowel/syllable of your choosing)

Required only for Vocal Percussionists: 

  • An audio or video sample of you beatboxing

Optional for all:

  • Videos/links to your solo performances in a group or your arrangements being performed

  • PDFs or MuseScore files of your arrangements.

Please note: given the volume of submissions, we may not be able to review every optional material you send.

Strong candidates should have:

  • Strong vocal skills and intonation

  • Trained ear for harmonization

  • Basic sight-reading skills

  • Ability to learn and memorize challenging pieces

  • Passion and enthusiasm for singing and performing

  • Ability to commit to weekly Wednesday rehearsals from 7:30-9:30pm (subject to slight change as needed), and additional pre-performance rehearsals as needed

We are specifically seeking sopranos and basses, but all vocal ranges are encouraged to audition! Ability to arrange music is a plus!
